TFI Network+ Workshop: Energy Efficient Manufacturing

The Transforming Foundation Industries (TFI) Network+ is funded by EPSRC to assist the wider academic and industrial community to exchange best practice and cross-fertilise ideas for the benefit of the six foundation industries: bulk chemicals, cement, ceramic, glass, metals and paper.

This workshop will explore energy efficient manufacturing within the Foundation Industries. Speakers will introduce innovative technology and processes, and participants will be invited to discuss their own views and experiences in breakout sessions.

Who is this workshop for

This workshop is aimed at those working in academia and industry who have knowledge, skills or expertise that can be applied to the foundation industries.

Aims of this workshop

i) Discuss with the foundation industries and different stakeholders about energy use and energy efficiency in the foundation industries

ii) Identify the common challenges critical to further developing sustainable manufacturing and practices in the foundation industries.

iii) Support the implementation of these common solutions among members of the Network+

Objectives of the workshop:

i) For the academic and industrial community to present on some common energy efficiency challenges

ii) For industry practitioners to present best practices that may be applied across multiple foundation industries

iii) For the wider community to identify cross-sectoral opportunities

iv) Support the Network+ to prioritise topics for mini-projects calls
