Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Foundation Industries: TFI Network+ publishes report from recent workshop
TFI Network+ is pleased to release the findings from the recent ‘Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Foundation Industries’ workshop, held virtually on 23rd March 2022. The event attracted over 50 audience members from across the Foundation Industries and partner organisations to discuss and share experiences and opportunities for improvement of EDI practises in the workplace.
The Network partnered with Inclusioneering, a social enterprise specialising in EDI solutions for technology and engineering companies, to deliver an insightful and thought-provoking event for the Foundation Industries community.
The Foundation Industries recognise the benefits of embedding more widespread EDI practises to create more inclusive workplaces and attract new talent and new innovative ideas to the sectors. Recent reports from UKRI have explored the current status of EDI within the sectors and the need to embed more long term practises to boost and protect the sectors.
“EDI should be at the forefront of every company’s strategic planning, but for the Foundation Industries, it is one of the most significant areas to focus on to ensure future success and employee retainment. Not only will better EDI awareness ensure current employees benefit from a more inclusive workplace, but companies will also be able to recruit new talent by presenting the Foundation Industries as exciting, innovative career choices”
Professor Bill Sampson, Co-Director of TFI Network+
“TFI Network+ is committed to supporting and embedding EDI within our own Network and across the Foundation Industries. We are hopeful that the findings in the report will encourage more action within the area of EDI, and we hope it will inform future work in the area for a positive impact on the Foundation Industries”
Professor Ian Reaney, Director of TFI Network+
The Network continues to work in the area of EDI, with future plans and projects to support EDI across the Foundation Industries.
