51st Annual Convention Symposium Low carbon concrete Radical Developments, Intentions & Challenges
27 April 2023 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Date: 27th April 2023
Venue: Genome Centre, Hinxton Hall, Cambridge
It is clear that the search for the practical means of reducing concrete’s carbon footprint is both widespread and substantial. The agenda encompasses technical, operational and political aspects, and this creates both opportunity and challenge for the future of concrete.
The Convention symposium will contain an eclectic mix of topics. We will hear from experts and practitioners, as well as policy makers. We will identify, examine and where relevant apply the various options resulting in practical outcomes. It is important to know of these developments and judge their merits from a technical and commercial point of view. This Convention seminar will uniquely provide this opportunity.
There are going to be challenges and changes in concrete materials, practices, Standards, designs and specifications. Established custom and practice will have to change for significant carbon reductions to be achieved. It is in our own self- interest to be aware of these changes. The Convention agenda will address these concrete issues in an informed, pragmatic and structured way.
The Convention, including the AGM and Dinner (and the ICT Students’ & Young Professionals’ launch event the night before), is also a singular opportunity to interact and network with colleagues at a special location which is of itself, on this occasion, possibly representing all our futures. We look forward to meeting you at Hinxton Hall, on the Wellcome Genome Campus.
