Inorganic Materials for Resource and Energy Efficiency

An all-day conference on “Inorganic Materials for Resource and Energy Efficiency” was co-organized by the TFIN+ and the UK Chapter of The American Ceramic Society. Over 50 participants attended the meeting, which featured speakers from Johnson Tiles, the Universities of Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, London South Bank University, and Queen Mary University of London.

The gathering gave the ceramics community a fantastic forum for fostering cooperation and knowledge sharing. The focus was on resource and energy efficiency, which was addressed in fields ranging from low temperature ceramic processes to enhanced thermal barrier coatings for more efficient jet engines. The gathering was a part of a yearly series of gatherings for the ceramics community and industry that will continue in 2024 in an effort to develop original approaches to net zero carbon emissions.
